My friend cracking his neck and fingers, needs a little bit of cleaning up but used it for a neck break in a project the finger cracks were good for the neck break.

Simulating "bone breaks" by cracking celery into pieces. The intent is to use these sounds along with "hitting" sounds to create a more dynamic punching sound effect. Although this is cc-0, if you integrate it into a more dynamic effect, i'm curious to hear it. Recorded and processed at 24bit 48khz using the tascam dr-40 linear pcm recorder. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else. Also de-noised.

Miked at 3-4" distance. Celery bitten and chewed (with artful salivation). H4 zoom recorder.

These are some chopsticks being split apart and snapped in half. Sounded kinda fleshy to me as well as wood-y. Recorded on an ntg-3.

I also uploaded neck-snap_short and neck-snap_up-tempo. These are all the same sound with _short being the file with the fastest tempo. All sounded like bones crunching to me, but the source was actually the sound of a boot stepping on a pair of dry pine cones from an austrian pine. Use it for whatever it sounds like to you.

Not only do chicken carcasses make a tasty stock they also make great sounds when you mangle them about a bit!. Various squelching and squishing sounds with the occasional bone snap. Into audacity on arch linux at 192 khz/24 bit. The recording was not processed or edited in any way to retain maximum flexibility to sound artists who will use this as an element. This can be useful as a sound effect for freezing or burning or deep-frying or even rain (when slowed down). Thanks to extremely wide frequency range the recording can be cleanly slowed down up to 25% speed. There's clean frequency content up to 80 khz in the recording. In a few places the mic gain was too much and a pop is clipped, but could still be useful for sound of braking or snapping something (bone?). No denoising was applied - perform your own if needed, though the sounds are mostly free of background hum (a bit of pc noise can be heard in the first minute before i turned down the gain).
